2. tryhard; (try-hard)
A person who puts a large amount of effort into achieving a certain image, or counter-image, to the point where it is obviously contrived. Rather than achieving an image through genuine personality, the tryhard consciously attempts to fit a certain style through deliberate imitation, forced style, or scripted behaviour.
That is to say, he/she is trying hard to create an image.
what is tryhards.com about?
basically, it's about tryhards (see above). we will be showing pictures, videos and audio of tryhards sent in by people from all over the world. there will be no nasty forums. it is not about race, religion or politics. there are plenty of other mind numbing sites for that. it might however be a little stereotypical. anyone in the pictures will have their eyes blacked out with a black strip(except for men with mascara). so you wont really know who it is, but they will know who they are....
what can tryhards.com do for me?
firstly, this website is not about making money. it basically about having a laugh at someone else's expense(maybe even your own if your not careful). once the site is up and running we will begin to host some advertisements(not the annoying, epileptic fit inducing type though). you will also be able to donate if you choose to. with the money raised... it's up to you, the people!!! we are open to any suggestions and we will have a voting poll for members. we could sponsor events with bands/DJ's/entertainers etc. we could even burn the money and show the video on the site, donate it to charity... or whatever. the options are endless and are not controlled by a corporation. its controlled by you.
what can i do as an individual?
all we need from the public is pictures, videos or audio of tryhards in your area. the website will be up and running soon, we are still getting prepared for the official launch, which includes designing a 'workplace friendly' version of the site. send your pictures to the email addresses below with tryhards as the subject and a brief description of the picture and the location. for audio and video, send us a link to youtube with a description and we will show the youtube video within the site. please send any questions, thoughts, ideas or abuse to the googlemail account. you can also join our facebook group tryhardsdotcom or our myspace page at myspace.com/tryhardsdotcom
